“Lomekwi” Specimen
The name "Lomekwi" was derived from the earliest stone tool site, "Lomekwi 3," discovered in Kenya. The evolution of mankind is closely linked to typography. Similar to the tool site in the Homo genus period, humans started with direct stone usage and progressed to grinding and crushing stones into different shapes, making them "portable." As humans became more sophisticated, they gradually developed a design mindset, with subtle differences determining various usages.
For this font design, I chose a sans serif font. Starting from the serif and international design style as one of the origins, people began the process of "simplification." I am particularly interested in the process of going from simplicity to complexity and back again.
